A high quality digital image is a prerequisite for all my portraits. This allows me to zoom in on fine details of the image such as eyes. It also helps to have supporting images taken at the same time for reference. 

Each painting is done on the finest linen canvas using top quality oil paints.

Frequently asked questions:

• What if the photograph is not perfect?
  Providing the picture is not blurred and the colours are fairly accurate, adjustments can be made to rectify any minor issues. For example, an over-dominant background can be softened.
• I don’t have a suitable photograph
  I can take an informal photograph for adults only, or alternately I can provide advice on how to take a suitable photograph.
• What should I wear?
  If you intend to do your own photography you need to pay attention to what you wear as clothes that look fashionable today may soon look dated. Choose clothes that have a timeless quality to them.
• What will it cost?
  Cost will vary depending on size, but the usual starting cost for a 18″ x 24″ canvas is £500. A £100 non-refundable deposit is payable at the outset to cover materials.
• How long will it take?
  This will depend on the size of the canvas, but it is usual for it to take 2-3 months including time for the painting to dry.
